Quilts Across the Ranges Annual Show

Quilts Across the Ranges

The ladies that formed the Western Quilters Circle in 1984 decided to hold an annual exhibition to showcase their work.
The three day exhibition is open to all members who can enter as many pieces as they desire, from quilts and wall-hangings to cushions and bags.

The WQC club challenge in 2011 was bags.  This photo
shows the bags on stands in front of the stage.
This years exhibition runs for 3 days at the Kelston Community Centre.
Friday 16th March to Sunday 18th.
The doors are open at 10am to 4pm and entry is $5.

This year we are also featuring the New Zealand Quilter Magazine travelling Suitcase Exhibition.
There is a cafe open daily with friendly volunteers
and home cooked food.

We thank the Auckland  Council Creative NZ Communities Fund for the generous grant which has helped us with the show expenses this year.

Father-in-law's 80th Birthday Quilt

In May my father-in-law turned 80. He was born in Belgium, near Flanders Fields. He loves Poppies as they remind him of the fields of poppies growing. When I saw this fabric I knew that I had to make him a quilt!!!
